Writing has been hard since the Pandemic, so in times like these, I always turn to art or something I can do with my hands. Lately I've been doing what I call bubble art, inspired by my favorite artists, the Pointillists. Instead of dots, I draw circles, small and large, on everything I create. For some reason it is very satisfying and substitutes for my need to obsess or worry over things for which I have no control. Sometimes the circles create the design, and sometimes they are overlaid over the design, as can be seen in the bird drawing, above. This particular piece was inspired by a visit to an art exhibit with my friend, Sarita. The theme of the exhibit was birds in art. I miss being able to go to a gallery or have a coffee with my friend since the social distancing has been in place, so I drew this as a reminder of the wonderful time we spent at that exhibit. Haven't yet named this one, but it is packed with memories of doing one of my favorite things: viewing art in galleries and museums.
