From Trash to Treasure

My third and biggest furniture rescue project:

Check out this old chest of drawers I rescued from someone's curb. Nicknamed the Behemoth because of its size and weight, I decided I could turn it into something beautiful with a little repair work and some paint. See the "after" results, below.

Staged with a Monet print and a little orchid plant and some objets from my house, I'd say it looks better than new now.

Also cleaned up the drawers, added all new modern hardware, and lined the drawers with textured paintable wallpaper. Got rid of the rust on the metal runners and waxed the wooden guides with cutting board oil. The drawers slide like beautifully; they just needed a little loving care. Then waxed the painted finish with BB Frosch's finishing wax for a nice luster and professional looking finish.
